Christmas starts here! For all those who are full of anticipation and want to get into the Christmas spirit early, the five singers of Opus Anglicanum, along with narrator Zeb Soanes, present a joyous programme of Christmas fun with festive readings mixed with carols, music-hall, and folk songs to make the fire crackle and warm the heart of every Scrooge! Beautiful St Mary’s Church will the backdrop for an evening of music, light, and laughter, so come and fill yourselves with Christmas cheer.
Featured pieces include sacred and secular, with carols and songs from the past 800 years – including Vaughan Williams and Orlando Gibbons – and words by Samuel Pepys, Thomas Hardy, Stanley Holloway, and Laurie Lee.
